Bronze Oceanus lamp with ship attachment. Roman, 1st - 2nd century A.D. L 17.5cm, H 22.5cm. Lamp in the shape of a bearded Oceanus head with crab claws, mouth with small opening, two leaf-like openings on the side, a small filler hole on each side, moustache in the shape of volutes on the sides, three round snouts with round burn hole, surrounded by volutes and sepals on the underside, stand ring, round eyelet handle on the back, connected to the ship attachment. At the head end an attachment in the shape of a Roman galley. Black-green patina, mast and sail corner broken, mast repaired with pin, mast tip missing, parts of the ropes missing, small hole on one snout.
