Bronze omphalos bowl. Achaemenid, late 6th - 5th century BC. ø 16cm, h 4cm. Chased sheet bronze with lotus bud decoration. In the center a small omphalos. Cf. White Muscarella, Bronze and Iron - Ancient Near Eastern Artifacts in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (1988) p. 218ff., no. 326-327. Partly green patina, intact. Provenance: Ex collection Dr. Klaus Marquardt, North Rhine-Westphalia, 1980s to 2009.
