Greek statuette of a bull. Classical period, 2nd half 5th - 1st half 4th century BC. H preserved 5.6cm, L 8.1cm. Fully cast with cold work in the form of engraved folds and hair on the head and neck. Beautiful animal study from the heyday of Greek art! Cf. the bronze animals in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York Accession Number 06.1091 and 20.374. Dark green patina, broken legs. On a large, classicist stand. Provenance: From the private collection C. J., Bavaria, since 2015; previously in private ownership in Munich since the 1980s.
