Large Corinthian black-figure alabastron of the panther-bird group. Early Corinthian, 625 - 600 BC. H 18.6 cm, ø body 9.7 cm. The body surrounded by rosettes with two opposing cockerels and a snake between them. Numerous details in red. Cf. on the painter D. A. Pieced together from fragments, with small retouched losses to the broken edges, the painting on one cock somewhat chipped. Provenance: From the German private collection of H. W.
