Apulian red-figure lekanis from the Darius underworld workshop. 340 - 330 BC H with lid 9.1 cm, W with handles 13.3 cm, ø lid 9.2 cm. On the lid between palmettes the heads of two women with jackets and rich jewelry. Numerous details in white and yellow. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau! Tiny chips to the edge of the lid, otherwise intact and in wonderful condition. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2008 from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau; from the H. D. Kind Collection in Fellbach near Stuttgart, acquired in the 1970s and 1980s.
