Attic white-ground cylinder lekythos by the Aischines painter. Circa 450 BC. H 14.5 cm, ø body 5.1 cm. A cloaked youth running to the right on a white ground in outline technique. Old label with collector's number above the foot. With certificate of authenticity from Galerie Günter Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau! Published in the catalog for Jack-Philippe Ruellan, Vannes auction of 4 April 2009, lot 57. The handle broken and reattached, a few small superficial flaking of the white paint, otherwise intact with remains of sinter. Provenance: From the R. L. Collection, Lower Saxony, acquired in 2009 from Galerie Puhze, Freiburg im Breisgau; from the French Bellon Collection (1819-1899) with inventory number 196.
