Large Campanian red-figure belly lekythos from a workshop in Cumae. 350 - 340 BC H 24.1 cm, ø body 11.8 cm. In the picture field two young women at the side of an altar. The one on the left is sitting on a rock and holding an object consisting of two sticks with crossbars, the one on the right is standing with a mirror and kalathos. Fruit, probably pomegranates, lies on the decorated altar. Numerous details in white and yellow. Small chip to the foot, tiny chips to the mouth, otherwise intact. Provenance: Since ca. 2005 private collection C.M.J., Brussels, inherited from the collection D. M. in Sceaux, France from the 1970s to 2005.
