A rare percussion revolver by P.J. Fagard

dating: 1850/60 provenance: Belgio, Octagonal, rifled, 36 cal barrel (clean bore, visible rifling) with front sight and fixed rear sight, Marked "P.J. FAGARD BREVETE" at the base and with a crowned "V". Six-shot cylinder. Barrel and cylinder with matching serial number. Working mechanism. Frame with "sidehammer"-type hammer. Knurled wooden grip, missing ring for the strap. The cylinder with approx. 50% of the original bluing, the other parts almost without finishing.

A lever on the left side cocks the hammer. Half-stock with iron furniture, no finish, a bit bumped and with signs of wear. Length 96 cm. Heinrich Genhart, Liège, had his turret gun design for pistols and rifles patented in the 1850s in Belgium and the USA.
