A Dumonthier type double-barreled percussion knife-pistol
dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Liegi, Straight, double-edged blade with fuller at the centre, marked "Doumonthier" and "Brevete"; on the sides of the blade two round, smoothbore, 9 mm. cal barrels, the two parry quillons form the hammers, the quillon block contains the pistons; the foldaway trigger placed on the side of the grip activates the hammers in sequence. Curved (pistol-shaped) grip featuring horn grips decorated with oblique grooves and containing both the springs and mechanisms. Complete with green-painted wooden scabbard with leather covering and iron-foil cap, the chape with small damage. Rare.
