In-folio, red half-chagrin, ornate ribbed spine, gold-stamped title on front cover (period binding). Atlas comprising an illustrated title, 89 engraved maps of French departments, 6 maps of French possessions (Algeria, Reunion Island, West Indies, African colonies, American colonies), and 7 maps (planisphere, Europe, Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Oceania). All maps have the interior finely watercolored at the time. A good copy. Some wear to binding.

Coeval full-leather binding with embossed friezes, marbled guards. Antiporta, engraved frontispiece, 29 intaglio plates, sheet with index of plates, 6 additional plates relating to German principalities also edited by Lobeck. Total of 35 plates in coeval coloring. Ex libris Horace Landau. Slight defects to the binding. Internally some light traces of moisture. Interesting 'Pocket Atlas' with fine period watercolor maps engraved by Tobias Lobeck from drawings by Lotter, while the antiporta and frontispiece were designed by Gottfried Eichler. The atlas includes: a double hemisphere of the world, a double hemisphere with celestial map, maps of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, and various countries and regions of Europe, many of them adorned with a cartouche. The map titled "America" shows both North and South America, with the northern part at an unfinished stage, as this area was still largely unexplored. The map of Asia shows the northern coast of Australia. Added to the volume are the 6 additional plates relating to the German principalities also edited by Lobeck.Nordenskiold 2, 135; Phillips Atlases 632; Tooley's Dictionary of mapmakers 397, 401. Total of 35 contemporary coloring plates. Ex Libris of Horace Landau. Slight defects on binding. Some slight waterstains on some sheets. Berey, 1655]. [Bound at the end, by the same author]: ["Cartes générales de toutes les provinces de France et d'Espaigne, revüeues et corrigées". A Paris, chez N. Berey, [vers 1655]]. 2 atlases in one oblong in-8° volume, paperback. Edges faded, with small tears at beginning and end of volume. Mottling and browning. Colored maps. 1 "Carte généralle...". Missing title page and first 6 pp. 17 engraved maps. Second edition of Tassin's general atlas, with the addition of two maps: one of Tartary and one of the Holy Land. (Pastoureau, Tassin I B, locates only 2 copies, at the BnF and the Brit. Library). 2. "Cartes généraux de toutes les provinces...". Lacks title page and, according to the table, maps 1-54-66-67-68, i.e. 63 engraved maps. Map 65 unfolded, with paper missing but not affecting the map. Mireille Pastoureau (Tassin III D) mentions 66 maps; she only locates 2 copies, at the BnF and the B.M. du Mans. - DHEULLAND Guillaume, "Carte nouvelle du Duché de Brabant et partie de la Hollande", Paris, chez l'auteur, [1747]. In-8° narrow. Worn but solid paperback. Military atlas comprising an assembly map and 24 individual maps with colored borders. The maps, in-4° format, have been folded into a narrow binding "in the form of a portable book, for the use of Mrs les Officiers des Trouppes de sa Majesté".
