Coeval full-leather binding with embossed friezes, marbled guards. Antiporta, engraved frontispiece, 29 intaglio plates, sheet with index of plates, 6 additional plates relating to German principalities also edited by Lobeck. Total of 35 plates in coeval coloring. Ex libris Horace Landau. Slight defects to the binding. Internally some light traces of moisture. Interesting 'Pocket Atlas' with fine period watercolor maps engraved by Tobias Lobeck from drawings by Lotter, while the antiporta and frontispiece were designed by Gottfried Eichler. The atlas includes: a double hemisphere of the world, a double hemisphere with celestial map, maps of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, and various countries and regions of Europe, many of them adorned with a cartouche. The map titled "America" shows both North and South America, with the northern part at an unfinished stage, as this area was still largely unexplored. The map of Asia shows the northern coast of Australia. Added to the volume are the 6 additional plates relating to the German principalities also edited by Lobeck.Nordenskiold 2, 135; Phillips Atlases 632; Tooley's Dictionary of mapmakers 397, 401. Oblong 12mo, 105x145 mm. Contemporary full leather binding with blind toolings on covers, marbled endpapers. Engraved titlepage and frontispiece, 29 engraved plates, sheet with "Index Mapparum" and six additional plates on the German principalities, also published by Lobeck, are added to the volume. Total of 35 contemporary coloring plates. Ex Libris of Horace Landau. Slight defects on binding. Some slight waterstains on some sheets.
