Tigre maintenant sa proie, 1905, œuvre offerte postérieurement par Paul Jouve à son ami Henri Vallette (1877-1962), artiste animalier d’origine suisse qui réalisa son portrait sculpté Dessin. Encre, gouache, estompe et aquarelle sur papier brun contrecollé sur carton fort. Œuvre présentée sous marie-louise dorée et dans un encadrement ancien. Signé et daté JOUVE (19)05 en bas à droite, porte la dédicace monogrammée Au vieux copain Vallette – P.J. à l’encre noire en bas à gauche. Feuille (non rognée) : 29 x 57,5 cm Avec encadrement : 49 x 72 cm La feuille n’a pas été rognée (découpée) et présente des manques éloignés du dessin, sur ses bordures droite et haute, et largement masqués par la marie-louise, la feuille est contrecollée en plein.
