PADMASAMBHAVA THANGKA
Distemper on cloth Bhutan or Tibet 18th century Dimensions: Height 90 cm Wide 70 cm Depth 0,1 cm Weight: 10,2 Kilograms Depiction of Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche surrounded by other monks, deities and scholars of Buddhist schools. He is the central character and shown sitting on a colourful lotus flower, dressed in wavy robes and adorned with jewellery. He is enframed by chrysanthemum aureoles. In his right hand he is holding a vajra, a khatvanga staff between his left arm. Acquired 16th December 1996 in Munich at Gallery Baader.
