The marshals of France attest that they have seen at the château de Vernon: Taupin de Villers, chevalier, Gillet de Cardonnay, Robert de Burnoy, écuyers, Jean Larchier, Symonet Le Prévôt and Jehan de Bontemps, crossbowmen, who have promised to serve the King throughout the present month of August 1380 in the guard of the said Vernon, under the government of Huet d'Esconceville, valet tranchant to the King and captain of the said château.
