ARCHIVES of Andrei BALASHOV (1889-1969) VELIYASHEV Leonid (1856-1939), general VELIYASHEV Dimitri Extensive archive of documents concerning General Leonid Veliyashev. The archive includes: - Typescript copies of Leonid Veliyashev's letters to his son Dimitri Veliyashev in France, then in Abyssinia. Copies made in the 1950s by D.Veliyashev, then addressed to Andrei Balashov. The letters were written between 1921 and 1939 (with interruptions), 114 pp. in-4, A.B.E. (traces of rust). Detailed letters about General L. Veliyashev's life in Lutsk (Poland) "I lived in Lutsk from 1901 to 1910, commanding a regiment, then a brigade. First I lived in a government apartment, now that house is destroyed / by peasant democrats/, my other apartment was fine, now occupied by a Polish club..." "Today, I'm in the service of a notary's office, as a witness and night watchman. Thus, a cavalry general, member of the Military Council, obtained with great difficulty, among other things, the functions of night watchman (...)", the life of the general in exile is hard, but he refuses to settle with his son in France. Leonid Veliashev (1856-1939) - cavalry general, participated in the Russo-Turkish War in the ranks of the Akhtyrsky regiment, commander of the 3rd field gendarmerie squadron in Kiev, then of the hussar regiment of the Iziumski regiment. Temporarily retired in 1914, he returned to service when Russia entered the First World War. After the revolution, he went into exile in Poland. Arrested by the Reds in 1939, he died a few days after his arrest. Ratgauz Daniil (1868-1937) - Russian lyric poet, author of famous romantic songs (romances). Famous before the revolution, several of his romances were set to music by composers such as P.Tchaikovsky, S.Rachmaninoff, C.Cui. Before emigrating, Daniil Ratgauz was already friends with the young poet Andrei Balashov, and had a certain influence on his poetic training. With A.V.Balashov, still in Russia, he wrote and published the song "My dear beloved". Ратгауз Даниил (1868-1937) - русский лирический поэт, автор известных романсов. Довольно знаменит до революции, на ряд романсов Ратгауза музыка написана композиторами П.Чайковским, С.Рахманиновым, Ц.Кюи. Еще до эмиграции Даниил Ратгауз был дружен с молодым поэтом Андреем Балашовым и оказал некоторое влияние настановление его поэзии. Совместно с А.В.Балашовым написан и издан романс "Дорогая моя ненаглядная".
