ARTIST OF THE MUNICH SECESSION Active around 1920 The fallen caryatid with a stone (based on a figure of the Gates of Hell by Auguste Rodin) bronze, brown and greenish patina. H. 52,5 cm. Inscribed on the base 'Munich 12 1922', with monogram 'JTM' (?). Above a rock-like base slightly abstracted depiction of a seated old woman, carrying a stone on her shoulders. Part. min. ber. The present object is closely related to two works by Auguste Rodin.
