MARY WITH THE CHILD AND THE BOY JOHN Oil on canvas. 149 x 113 cm. Lower right "Cop. n. V. Deyk v. A. Fickert". On the right, standing before architecture, Mary in red robe with brown cloak, holding the naked boy Jesus standing on a pedestal with her hands. To the left, the view of a landscape under a high sky in the light of the yellowish setting sun. At the bottom left, John in a fur robe with a ribbon bearing the inscription "ECCE" and a dog looking at him. The original painting by Anthonius van Dyck was painted around 1631/32, measures 150.9 x 114.5 cm, and is in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. Annotation: The artist studied from 1918 at the Munich Academy under Peter von Halm, Hermann Groeber and Hugo Freiherr von Habermann, resident in Munich from 1931, member of the Reich Association of German Fine Artists, mainly active as a copyist in Munich.
