SILVER EAR ECUELLE. PROVINCE, first half 18th century. Each cut-out ear is decorated with an engraved bust of a bearded man on a gadrooned base with tritons on either side, on an amatized ground. Frieze of ovals and large shell in chief. Trace of an old coat of arms in an oval shield with palms on the body. Two hallmarks on the rim: horse ? and pig. Minor damage.

Oval in cross-section, standing on a pedestal decorated with a guilloche frieze and a gadrooned ring, two straight double lateral handles with oak foliage attachments and acanthus leaves, an applique finial on each handle. Curved projecting center lid with lanceolate leaf terrace, topped by a lanceolate leaf handle.

Oval in cross-section, standing on a pedestal decorated with a frieze of palmettes on a striated background and a gadrooned ring, two straight double lateral handles with oak leaf attachments and adorned with acanthus leaves, an applique finial on each handle. Flared lid projecting to the center, bordered by a gadrooned frieze, with flat leafy terrace topped by a burst fruit-shaped grip.

Feldkirch, early 18th century Pewter, cast. Marks of Benedict I Wiang (mentioned 1702-1734) and "X" mark struck into the Zurich shield. Re-cast of the Wiler model by Hans Melchior Müller (1660-1733) after the design by the medalist and die-cutter Hans Jakob I. Gessner (1677-1737), whose marks are also cast. Round form. In the mirror a bull's-eye, on the flag the coats of arms of the 13 old Swiss towns. D 20 cm.
