A small unguent bottle of yellow glass originating from the Eastern Mediterranean. The bottle has a many faceted body with various depictions of amphorae and other vessels surrounding the center. From the body rises a slender neck which flares back out into a funnel shape at the mouth. This style of bottle was often used for perfumes in the ancient world. Eastern Mediterranean - ca 1st Century AD Dimensions: H: 3 in., (7.6 cm.) Good overall, with sediment across much of surface and iridescence consistent with burial.

Two 19th century salt flasks. Cut crystal, silver and silver-plated metal, one bearing two hallmarks including a small Belgian silver guarantee hallmark and used between 1831 and 1868, without stopper, the second without hallmark, in silver-plated metal or low-titanium silver, complete with its inner stopper, lengths: 11 and 12.5 cm, no chips in the glassware. Rare pair of porcelain perfume bottles, in the form of figurines representing two figures seated cross-legged on cushions, inspired by the Turks or Chinese. The man plays the panpipes, the woman the lute. The caps feature heads treated au naturel with colors imitating flesh tones, the bodies of the figures finely dressed in costumes with motifs treated in gold in imitation of textile prints. (2 tiny chips on the back of the cushions and a tiny chip on a collar). Dimension: H 18.5cm 19th century, circa 1840

A CHINESE RED OVERLAY GLASS 'DRAGON' SNUFF BOTTLE QIANLONG 1736-95 The tapering milky-white body overlaid in dark ruby-red with a dragon encircling the vessel chasing a flaming pearl, above another smaller dragon emerging from the breaking waves below, 7cm. Provenance: from the collection of Colonel William Edmund Pye (1872-1949). Commissioned into the British Army in 1892, he served with the Indian Army in Tirah between 1897-98, then in 1900 was sent to China as the leader of the British Section of the International Police. It was at this time he started his collection, which has passed by descent to the current owner.
