Designer rocking chair. Germany, 1960s-1970s.

Designer seesaw. Germany, 1960s-70s. Wood, chromed metal, hessian and leather. Measurements: 100 x 58 x 90 cm. Rocker with a design clearly belonging to the German Bauhaus school of design with the structure made of black lacquered wood and chromed metal in curved shapes. The cover is made of hessian covered in black leather. The Bauhaus School of Crafts and Design, or Staatliche Bauhaus, is one of the milestones of modern art. It touched on the various artistic fields, although it was architecture that was most influential. Fine art and craftsmanship had the same value within industrial production. Its meaning is "House of construction" and from it came some of the most interesting ideas and proposals of the early 20th century. It was not only a school, it also became a whole artistic movement.
