A RARE AGATE ‘COMB’ PECTORAL Cambodia, c. 1000 years old. A beautiful and rare ancient agate bead that is often referred to as comb or wing shaped. The stone is translucent and of dark chocolate colour, the surface is brilliantly polished and nice to touch. Central drilling showing ancient toolmarks. Condition: Very good condition with some wear and notches. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
