The book, illustrated with more than 250 woodcuts, gives numerous models of parterres, labyrinths, trellises, fountains, etc., explanations of many plants, notes on sundials, etc. Vander Groen, gardener to the Prince of Orange, also explains the difference between the French and the Dutch garden. Parts 4 and 5 were written by the physician Nijland and deal with beekeeping and veterinary medicine. Ref.
