"Mr Delacroix hastens to offer his compliments to Monsieur de Cailleux and to tell him that not only does he not object to a copy being made of his painting, but that he counts on his extreme kindness to give the person in charge of the copy a small recommendation for Mr Naigeon, in order to obtain that the painting be placed a little lower during the time that the work will last. He will be very grateful to Monsieur de Cailleux for this. It will be a new mark of benevolence to join to the one whose effects Mr Delacroix has so often felt"... A L.A.S. "Eug.
