COSTANZA (born 1931) A jewelry artist of the 1970s, she was entrusted with the publishing jewelry collections by Maison Hermès between 1970 and 1975, and Galerie La Demeure published a set of 32 pieces at the same time. The necklace presented here highlights the sculptural novelty of this period, when women were adorned with a large sculpture cut directly from gold leaf like a fabric. She was also one of the first French jewelry designers to use machined Altuglas (or Plexiglas). She creates jewelry with pure, soft lines: two- and three-finger rings, a curved pectoral. Although her work is rarely illustrated, some of her creations can be found in the documentation of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs. Worthy of a Cardin fashion show. Reference: Musée des Arts décoratifs, Pectoral à la Septaria, purchased 1987. Navigart.com for examples of multi-finger rings in Plexiglas.
