Lot 177 - JIMI HENDRIX (1942/1970): Stage pants by the legendary American guitarist and singer. Bought in London, these pants are decorated with arabesques in shades of pink and gold, and are made of polyester and satin. For the record, during his stays in Paris, Jimi Hendrix stayed with Johnny Hallyday. When he left, he forgot a few personal items, including these famous pants. Recovered and offered to a guitarist friend from Toulouse by Ticky Holgado, Johnny's secretary at the time, the pants have reappeared today, after 57 years! In 1966, Ticky Holgado became Johnny Hallyday's confidant and private secretary. He slept in a room in the apartment of the rocker, whose morale was at its lowest during this period, due to marital problems with Sylvie Vartan and major tax problems. Johnny even attempted suicide on September 10, 1966. It was Ticky Holgado, alongside Johnny's press agent Jean-Pierre Pierre-Bloch, who broke down the bathroom door to discreetly transport the rocker's unconscious body to Lariboisière hospital. After this suicide attempt, Johnny Hallyday went to London to record new songs. And during this week, one evening, he met Jimi Hendrix at the "Blaises", a London club. Stunned by the musician's virtuosity, Hallyday offered to hire him as an opening act for his next concerts. The first gala run-in took place on October 13, 1966 in Evreux (Eure), with Jimi Hendrix as opening act. Three more concerts followed before Johnny Hallyday's comeback at the Olympia on October 18, 1966. Frame size 118x50 cm, with 8 mm thick glass. Museum piece.
