BARBIE, MATTEL S.A. Francie, "Barbie's MOD'ern cousin",1966, rubber doll, jointed legs (slight discoloration) marked "© 1966, MATTEL INC, US PATENTED, U.S PAT. PEND. MADE IN JAPAN" on right buttock. In its original white plastic case with cut sides decorated with portraits of dolls' feet, forming a dressing room with hangers. It is accompanied by the following outfits: - "Checkmates" #1259, 1966: Belted jacket and pleated midi skirt with houndstooth pattern, red handbag, sleeveless white top; - "Francie Swimsuit" #1170, 1967: A pretty, brightly striped knit top meets a plain pink plastic bottom. A green plastic belt with gold button enhances the waist ; - "Get Ready" #1252 , 1968: summer pajamas, spring pajamas, babydoll, stockings and a hanger ; - "The Bridge Bit" #1279, 1968: Francie® doll loves a quiet evening in front of the fireplace with a good game of bridge! She wears a cozy white sweater with royal blue and green stitching on the front. It tops a pair of royal-blue stretch pants with a sewn-in pleat and a navy-blue elastic waistband, and paper playing cards with red dots on the back complete the ensemble. - "First Formal" #1260, 1966: Francie® doll is excited about going to her first formal! She's bought a feminine dress with a blue crepe bodice and a white taffeta skirt with a flower-embroidered organza overskirt. The pretty red dress features red braid and four gold buttons on the bodice. A white straw hat with ribbon, socks (one sock missing) and red flat shoes complete the ensemble; - "Flower Girl" #1904, 1964: yellow full-skirted dress with sheer overskirt and bow at each sheer strap ; - "Clam diggers" #1258, 1966: composed of orange pants, yellow top, orange and yellow vinyl rain bob, garden apron, shovel and rake; - Pink two-piece pyjamas and pink pumps; - Navy blue pants, red and white jacket, raincoat and yellow rain hat, blue dress, straw hat and white shoes. MATTEL S.A. Barbie Skipper and Scooter, 1963. Two rubber dolls, jointed legs, marked "© 1963 MATTEL INC" on right buttock. Accompanied by the following outfits: - "Town Togs" #1922 (1965-1966), Ready for winter day: The Skipper® doll is dressed in a green felt dress with two front pleats and yellow stitching. A long-sleeved turtleneck in yellow knit is a perfect match. The green felt coat features yellow stitching and a low belt with gold buckle. Gold buttons enhance the coat and sweater, and another closes the turtleneck in the back. The ensemble is completed with a contrasting black and white checkered cap, checkered socks and black shoes. - "Party Time" #1021, 1964: includes dress, long coat, hat, handbag, gloves, socks ; - "Dreamtime" #1909, 1964: includes two-piece pyjamas, robe, cat plush, landline telephone; - Ice breaker" #0942, 1962-1964: jacket and hat; - Skating Fun" #1908, 1964: Barbie® and Skipper® dolls had a rendezvous at the rink with the Ken® doll! Of course, the Skipper® doll wanted to look her best, so she found an outfit to match her big sister's Icebreaker #0942. A white turtleneck sweater was attached to red tights. This bodysuit was topped by a red velvet skating skirt with calico lining and suspenders. - "Ballet Class" #1905, 1964: The Skipper® doll prepares to make her stage debut in "The Nutcracker". "She was to perform the role of Clara in Tchaikovsky's famous ballet. For her training, she wore a leotard and black tights. For the performance, she wore a beautiful pink tulle and lamé ballet tutu with a zipper in the back. She had a fabric flower headband with long pink ribbons on each side. A pink satin bag carried her white ballet shoes. - "Slumber Party" #1642, 1965: two-piece pajamas, robe, hairbrush, comb ; - "Outdoor Casual" #1915: matching bulky knit sweater with large turtleneck. A matching cotton-knit dickey buttons up the back under the sweater. Short white knit gloves; - "Swimsuit" #1120: navy-colored swimsuit with red and white anchor yoke and red flat shoes; - Outfit #1120: denim shorts and pink ruffled top with white polka dots; - Country Picnic #1933, 1966: Skipper® loved picnics with friends! She wore a tricolored dress in pink, lime green and turquoise. The skirt was adorned with cut-outs of white butterflies embroidered in purple, pale pink and yellow. She wore pink flat shoes and carried her picnic gear in a matching tricolor tote bag. She packed a fringed tablecloth with red and white checks and flowers, a plate, a slice of wax watermelon, a plastic hamburger on a bun, a large fork with a red plastic handle and a sausage attached for roasting, an ice cream cone, a strawberry soda, and a butterfly net! - "Lolapaloozas" #1947, 1967: Polka dots, flowers, stripes and coordinating plain fabrics look great in bright pink and green! The Skipper® doll found lots of ways to combine her floral halter top with a green ruffled stocking, floral shorts, a polka-dot bolero with green ruffled sleeves, a green skirt with a striped pleat and polka-dot belt, a striped and polka-dot blouse and polka-dot bell bottoms. Bright pink flat shoes from Taiwan completed the ensemble; - "Warm 'n Wonderful" #1959, 1968: This schoolboy outfit is perfect for chilly autumn days. The Skipper® doll's green and blue striped knit dress has a turtleneck and dropped waist. A gorgeous plush coat in green and blue is adorned with green vinyl piping. Green fishnet nylon thigh-high stockings, a blue molded vinyl cap and knee-high blue boots complete the look; - "Platter Party" #1914, 1965: The Skipper® doll has organized the perfect party for her friends! She looks very elegant in her perfect little hostess dress. The full-length red plaid skirt was adorned with red fringe at the bottom and topped with a blue velvet bodice with a white organza collar. Red shoes completed the look. BARBIE, MATTEL S.A. Vintage Barbie circa 1960. Rubber doll (slight discoloration), jointed legs, marked "© 1958 MATTEL INC, US PATENTED, U.S PAT. MADE IN JAPAN" on the right buttock. 1958 is an important year in Barbie's history, as it was on this date that the patent for the doll was filed. This patent included Barbie's design and concept, which was inspired by a German doll named Bild Lilli. Barbie was first presented to the public at the American Toy Fair in New York on March 9, 1959. The very first Barbie had side-facing eyes, a feature that would be modified in later versions. Presented in a red plastic dressing case with hangers. Accompanied by the following outfits: - "Pajama Pow" #1806, 1967: Barbie® looked thoroughly modern in her shag-a-delic shantung jumpsuit with flared legs and bell sleeves! Her lovely matching felt hat is topped with faux fur! - An AirFrance travel bag. -Black lace leggings, pink shorts, white nightcap, black bodysuit, straw hat and white shirt. With two interchangeable heads. Also included: MATTEL S.A. Tutti, 1965 doll, in rubber (slight stains and discoloration), legs and arms articulated, with a hook in the right hand to hold a bouquet of flowers, Marked © 1965/Mattel, Inc./ Japan on the back.
