The estate of the pioneer Bernhard Gerke of the 1st Nassau Pioneer Battalion No. 21 Half-liter porcelain reservist mug with pewter mount (lid reworked/repaired at the base and on the figure), Gerke's name, also in the name bar, period of service 1906 - 1908. Also from the family a war memorial coin 1870/71, four battle clasps (Weissenburg, Wörth, Sedan, Paris), the jubilee medal 1897, iron cross of honor ("W.Sch. & Co.") for survivors, a tin stamp no. 19509 with griffin, together in a leather pouch with cloth label "Pionier Gerke". Also a CdV photo of Gerke in uniform, birth certificate (4.11.1893), silver pocket watch ("Cylinder 10 Steine") with Gerke's name engraved on it, glasses, work book and some photos/documents from the family. Also a large photo of the Rahmsbeck warriors' association 1903 under glass, in an old frame (frame dimensions 47 x 60 cm). Partially slightly damaged, signs of age. Bernhard Gerke later served as mayor of Ramsbeck. Provenance: Directly from family property. Condition: II

A VICTORIAN SILVER-MOUNTED GOLIATH POCKET WATCH CASE AND A SILVER-PLATED POCKET WATCH the case by William Comyns & Sons, London 1898, the case shaped oblong, the hinged cover with openwork mounts, with a leather easel back; the watch retailed by Mappin Brothers, Regent Street, with Arabic numerals on the white enamel dial, with a suspension loop. (2) Case 11.5cm high, watch case diameter 70mm The case has surface scratches, and the sides and back cover edges have small dents. The glass has minor chips to the outer edge and some small scratches. The dial has dust particles on the surface. The hands are set correctly, wind smoothly, and move in going order.

The movement in the wheel axle with 14-day running time, thread suspension of the pendulum and half-hour strike on bell. Cast from several parts and screwed together. Large chimney pendulum on an oblong base with three appliqués, four lictor bundles on the corners as feet. The antique chariot pulled by two rearing horses, the drawbar held by a lion, Athena standing behind the charioteer Telemachos. Signed on the chapter ring "LHOEST FG. ST. HONORE". H 45.5, W 48.5, D 11.5 cm. Paris, c. 1810, the bronze cast attributed to Jean-André Reiche. The Bibliothèque nationale owns a drawing by the bronzier Jean-André Reiche (1752 - 1817), to which this attribution can be traced. Kjellberg also mentions a copy in Malmaison Castle, another is in the Musée du Temps in the Palais Granvelle in Besançon. The watchmaker LHoest is probably Dieudonné LHoest, born in Liège in 1778, who is documented in Paris from 1796 and specialized in the production of pocket watches.
