Pair of bronze-plated tabletop barrels, with small side panels, then round to the muzzle, gilded with thunderbolt friezes. Band signed in gold "Frans et Ante Penel", finished with a gilded crown at the muzzle. Smooth. Cal. 14 mm. Sight. Traces of inscription and hallmark on reverse of barrels. Long walnut shaft, finished with a horn ring under the muzzles of the barrels; squared stock. Silver trim (950): pommel cap with eagle head; trigger guard cut out, engraved with foliage, decorated with palmette and shells; cartouche thumb piece (blank) under marquis crown. With attached wooden ramrod with horn tip. Barrel length: 23.8 cm - Total length: 38.3 cm - Gross weight: 1.117 g. Cutaway barrels engraved with flowers and dots, formerly gilded, then round towards the muzzle. Smooth. Caliber: 15 mm. Brass sights. Reverse of barrels marked "I.I. Blachon" near a fleur-de-lys and CN hallmark under crown. Long walnut shafts carved with teardrops and thunderbolts. Cut-out brass fittings engraved with fillets: chased "dogfish head" pommels forming a stunner. Horn ramrods with brass tips and reversible iron barrel puller. Barrel length: 21.5 or 21.7 cm - Overall length: 35.5 or 35.8 cm. Scratches and bumps from use; a few cracks, rubs and small chips to the wood; wood missing between the barrels and locks; a few chips to the ramrods; a few spots of oxidation; small crack on the side of one hammer's jaw. CALLET et Compagnie, harquebusiers in Saint Étienne, in the 18th century. This I.I. BLACHON must belong to the dynasty of harquebusiers or cannoneers of this surname active in Saint-Etienne throughout the 18th century. The "chien de mer" pommels are similar to those produced by the CASSAIGNARD harquebusiers of Nantes.

FRANCE, vers 1760-1770 - BROY in Roanne. Pair of superior officer's pistols. Signed, round-bodied flintlock locks with white polished iron swan-neck hammers. Bezel barrels, ringed, then round to the muzzle. Smooth. Caliber: 15 mm. Hook breeches. Tails of thunder in white polished iron. Decorated with knotted medallions, encircling the SAINT-ETIENNE proof marks, lines of dots and arrows, with the inscription "Canon Tordu", and the sights in a radiating pattern, in gold damascene on a burnished background. Reverse of barrels marked "Tordu", with initials A.O. on palms (proof mark) and incomplete name "... RIEU", probably for MERIEU. Long walnut shafts decorated with filigree and garlands of silver tassels (min. 800) inlaid with thunderbolts. Thumb pieces with oval medallion (virgin) in a silver filigree leaf surround (min. 800). Chased silver fittings (950): pommels with attel decorated with military trophies and radiating motifs, bridges and counterplates decorated in suite and with flowers. Small, illegible hallmarks. With black-stained wooden ramrods with silver-plated tapered heads. Barrel length: 17.6 cm - Total length: 32 cm - Total gross weight: 1.380 g. Scratches and knocks from use; a few chips to the wood; some oxidation to the reverse of the barrels, wood sides; Pistol signed Broy: old break restored to the barrel under the thunder tail; some watermarks missing; one hitch point broken, but present.

ANGLETERRE, Londres, seconde moitié du XVIIIème siècle - KETLAND & Co. Pair of fine Marine officer's pistols. Signed, round-bodied flintlock locks and safety blades with swan-neck hammers. Blunderbuss bronze barrels, ringed, then round towards the muzzle, marked LONDON. Mouth diameter: 37 mm. Finials and friezes engraved with thunderbolts. Marks of the LONDON proof house. Long walnut shafts, decorated with flowers, teardrops and leaves. Cut brass fittings, decorated with rocaille cartouches and flowers. Iron rods with nail heads. Barrel length: 18.5 or 18.7 cm - Overall length: 32.8 or 33 cm. Safety catches not working. Scratches and bumps from use; a few stains, cracks and small chips, small groove under the muzzle of one barrel. KETLAND & Co. The KETLAND dynasty included several generations of harquebusiers or gunmakers based in Birmingham from 1740 onwards, then in London from the 1760s. Our pair of pistols appears to have been made by William II (?-1804), grandson of the founder, in the second half of the 18th century.

Guard in silver (950), white and gilded, decorated with engraved, plain or grained lozenges and stylized flowers applied in relief, with a single branch, ending in a quillon in the form of a crook and a donkey step, with a spindle with lines of faceted nails, a covered urn pommel and an oval plate decorated in succession and engraved with garlands of pearls and suns. Straight triangular blade with engraved and gilded foliage and trophies on a blued ground in the first quarter. Monogrammed on the heel A.K. for A. KNECHT, active in Solingen. Wooden scabbard covered with white snakewood or shagreen (?), with three silver (950) trimmings, cut, gilded, decorated with semi flowers and leaf frieze. Iron rings. PARIS, 1798-1809 and hallmark of the goldsmiths' association. Blade length: 80.8 cm - Total length: 102 cm - Total gross weight: 519 g. Some wear to the decorations, but especially to the scabbard skin, which also shows a few knocks; clevis to be refixed, bowl missing; some oxidation to the hilt, and old oxidation to the blade. Provenance: According to family tradition, this sword came from the collection of Colonel Count Colonna, aide-de-camp to Bonaparte.

Single-branch hilt with lion's head and leaves, and half-oreillon cruiser decorated with a martial trophy, featuring Roman armor on a background of an arrow crossed with a sword and olive branches. Lion-headed curved quillon. Short-tailed pommel adorned with a Greek officer's head, helmeted, and foliage. Breton ebony spindle. Curved blade with a small cutting edge, two hollow sides and round back, finished with a counter-edge, partially engraved, blued and gilded with trophies and leaves. Signed on the heel SCHIMMELBUSCH & Compagnie in SOLINGEN. Embossed and gilded brass scabbard, decorated in relief with military trophies in cartouches, or engraved with leaves, friezes of palmettes, wolves' teeth and cobwebs, on one side, with two bracelets and rings. Brass sting. Blade length: 84 cm - Scabbard length (without sting): 87 cm - Total length: 105.5 cm. Slight play to the hilt and to the attachment of the branch to the pommel; some wear to the gilding and decoration of the blade; scratches and long crack to the spindle; some stains and oxidation to the blade; some wear bumps.

FRANCE, Consulat Premier Empire - Staff officer's saber, Vendémiaire an XII model. Chased gilt bronze mounting. Single-branch hilt, ending in a leafy buckle, and cruiser decorated with a martial trophy, featuring a Greek helmet on a flag, sword and trumpet background, in a rectangular reserve highlighted by half-oreillas with palmette. Lion-headed curved quillon. Short-tailed pommel adorned with a rosette and a torus of laurel leaves. Ebony spindle with oblique grooves. Slightly curved blade with small cutting edge, two hollow sides and round back, finished with counter-edge, partially engraved, blued and gilded with trophies, bundles and laurel wreath. With a fancy scabbard (too long) in repoussé brass and gilded, decorated with military trophies in cartouches, laurel garlands and fluting, with two bracelets and faceted ring-bearers; iron sting. Blade length: 77.5 cm - Scabbard length (without dart): 87.5 cm - Total length: 103.5 cm. Wear to the gilding and decoration on the blade; a few chips to the spindle; a few stains and oxidation to the blade, probably partially repolished; scabbard bowl missing, a few knocks from use. FRANCE, Premier Empire - Manufacture de VERSAILLES - Saber de Grenadier à cheval, de Dragon de l'Impératrice ou de Gendarme d'élite de la Garde impériale, second model known as Year XI (1802-1803). Wrap-around three-prong hilt with circle and flaming grenade, openwork palmette top, marked "VERSAILLES". Oval hallmarks under the palmette: "JC" for J. CAZAMAJOU (reviser from 1803 to August 1806), "A.C" for A. CHAPELLE (director from 1805 to August 1809), and "NB" (worn) for Nicolas BOUTET (contractor from 1800 to August 1818). Fuse covered with red-brown leather (changed?) and double braided brass filigree. Blade with one cutting edge, two wide hollow sides, two gutters and a flat back, marked "Manufre Imple de KLINGENTHAL Avril 1806". Heel stamped "L" in medallion by F.L. LOBSTEIN (reviser from 1804 to 1821). Brass scabbard with long red-brown leather crevices (possibly reported), two retaining rings and two bracelets, two iron rings; iron stinger. Marked by J. CAZAMAJOU. Blade length: 97.5 cm - Total length: 116.3 cm. Chips and a few cracks, some formerly restored, on the hilt; wear and rubbing on the leather; a few stains on the blade; scabbard dents, with some crushing.

Beautiful sword for a senior officer or dignitary, offered by a city. Guard entirely in gilded silver (950). Keyboard adorned in the center with a bust of Henri IV in a medallion, with a winged divinity on either side, above two leafy quillons terminating in a bust in a medallion, one with a woman, the other with a man, branch entirely chased, in the middle a bust of Minerva. Oval pommel representing, on one side, a woman's head symbolizing a city, wearing an olive wreath and a mural crown, and on the back, a rooster. Fully chased fuse, with a large lictor beam surrounded by foliage on the front and a helmeted Minerva in a medallion on the back (fuse turned over). Gilded and blued blade, etched on one half with a man in armor, a monogram: "J F A" or "F A" and a crowned imperial eagle; on the heel, a rhombus with the engraver's signature: "Bisch Le Jeune"; back marked: "Manufacture Impériale du Klingenthal". Leather scabbard with two gilded silver (950) fittings decorated with palms and flowers, iron stinger. PARIS, 1809-1819 (medium guarantee). Late First Empire period, modified under the Restoration with the addition of a bust of Henri IV. Gross weight: 727 g. - Blade length: 71 cm - Total length: 91.5 cm. Some oxidation on the blade; leather damaged in the middle; bent cap; cap knob ground in the center. Other models of the same type are known, also given as gifts by a town, and do not bear the same goldsmith's hallmark as this one.

Breech shafts decorated with leaves. Selected walnut shafts with gadrooned stocks and scroll-carved lugs. Cut-out iron fittings adorned with scrolls, finger rest bridges and turned knob pommels. Barrel length: 26.3 cm - Overall length: 40.5 cm. Some wear; scratches and dents, some deep; a few small chips to the wood. Soil or water find in good condition with patina. 16 cm long tang with a mushroomed rivet knob. Blade (L 54.2 cm) with a flat central ridge, slightly concave cutting edges and a long, needle-pointed point. The tang and the mispointed base of the blade less corroded as it is made of less carbon-rich material. L 69.8 cm, G 530 g.

Dolch, Pugio - Dagger, pugio Ancient archaeological find, Roman Imperial period, ca. 150-300 AD, probably of provincial Roman manufacture. Cast in one piece in a lost form with a ring pommel, crescent-shaped quillons and a bulbous hilt with a central bulge. The decorative motifs consist of concentric semicircles and laurel tendrils. The "smooth" surfaces of the hilt have been filed and ground, but apparently not polished. Double-edged, corr. blade (L 20.7 cm) with a rounded rhombic cross-section, chipping in the cutting edges and a tip broken off at a length of approx. 4 mm. The hilt and blade show slight bending, probably caused by storage on the ground. L 31.5 cm.

Iron cross hilt with flat hub purchase and concave central field. Pommel with separate rivet knob. Straight quillons (l 26.3 cm) of almost square cross-section. Grip passed. Double-edged blade (L 89.3 cm) in very good condition with a central point and narrow fullers, each approx. 60 cm long. No chipping or nicks in the edges. L 114.6 cm, G 1760 g.

Leather-covered grip, probably replaced in the 19th century. Double-edged blade (L 104 cm) with a flat, rounded central ridge and a reinforced point. Corroded and superficially cleaned interior. Corroded and cleaned iron cross hilt with pommel and segmented grip in one piece. The three slit and hollow decorative ridges are, like the pommel cap, inlaid with non-ferrous metal wire. Crossguard of round cross-section with thickened ends and a shell-shaped "nail" on the obverse side. Corr. blade (L 22.2 cm) with a central ridge, two ridges at the base, then a narrow fuller which merges into a central ridge 6 cm from the point. Cutting edges with chipping. L 33.2 cm.

Old blackened, seven-segmented bud pommel with fluted "sepals" and concave neck. Straight quillons of round cross-section with thickened ends and a square central iron. Grip wrapped with cord and covered with black leather. High-quality blade (l 92.2 cm) of flat diamond section, already ground over several times during the use phase, with a trefoil mark struck on one side and a single fuller. L 116.5 cm, G 1240 g.

Massive, hollow-ground blade (L 91.4 cm) of rectangular cross-section, leaf-shaped point (L 23 cm) with sharp edges and a pronounced central ridge. The toggle in front of the point is missing. Axt, Streitaxt - Axe, battle axe Switzerland, Steinen, 2nd half of the 16th century. Iron (l 26 cm). Heavily corroded axe blade with an almost straight, attached cutting edge and a skillfully joined, 15 cm long, rectangular socket. A mark (cross between two crescent moons and spheres (full moon)) of the Schwyz smithing dynasty Schorno, Steinen, which is difficult to make out due to the corrosion, is stamped on the quartz/inside of the axe blade. This mark is flanked by two square and two "tuft-shaped" insignia. Original wormhole stock with engraved mark "MXI". With old collection label. L 123.5 cm.

Schweizerdolch - Swiss dagger 2nd half of the 16th century Formerly corrupt, cleaned hilt with iron pommel and crossguard, each end bent towards the hilt (H. Schneider: "Der Schweizerdolch", Type IV). The underside of the quillons has a clearly recognizable fermentation pattern. Bellied walnut grip with decorative grooves along the longitudinal axis and stress cracks. Cleaned burr blade (l 24.3 cm) with a fine, visible, partially visible tempered structure of the blade steel and an unmarked leaf mark struck on both sides. L 37.5 cm.

Luntenschloss-Kurzgewehr - Matchlock short rifle Italy, Brescia, around 1630-1640. Elaborately worked round barrel (length 55 cm), 16 mm caliber, with funnel-shaped widened muzzle, sights and front sight. The barrel is divided into three differently shaped sections Long rectangular, flat lock plate stamped "PB" on the left. The hammer with fin-shaped clamping screw is designed and engraved as the front part of a snake/dragon's body, the trigger guard as the tail of the same mythical creature. Lock action in working order. The pan, decorated with diagonal lines, can be closed with a well-functioning hinged lid. The underside of the lock and the trigger guard bearing were probably added in walnut in more recent times. Dark stained fruitwood stock with an old repaired crack in the front area and a mixed butt stock shape between Prussian "paddle stock" and French shapes. L 97 cm.

The guard plates are asymmetrically arranged in a kidney shape and pierced with dots. Bellied grip with Turk's heads, wire winding missing. Old cleaned single-edged blade (L 85.5 cm) with narrow fullers on both sides, a point on the back and a 24 cm long single-edged point. On the forte rubbed remnants of bust portraits in side view and Latin mottoes, including "Soli Deo Gloria" ("Glory to God alone"), "Sideros pro nobis, quis contra nos" ("If the stars are for us, who can be against us?"). Prunk-Radschlossbüchse, Teschinke - A magnificent wheellock rifle, Teschinke Teschen, dat. Octagonal barrel (length 91.4 cm), rifled in 11 mm caliber, folding rear sight and dovetailed brass front sight. A mark "Schwan unter W.S." on top of the barrel in the chamber area. The flat lock plate with an external wheel is finely engraved with a bear hunting scene with a town in the background. The cock is figuratively and florally engraved. Trigger with a somewhat bent set trigger, fingered iron trigger guard. The full stock of reddish precious wood lavishly inlaid with bone and finest bone chips. Depicted are geometric tendrils and fittings, complemented by realistic figurative to grotesque depictions - including a double-headed eagle under a (flower) crown, as well as Adam and Eve. A small bone plate with the date "1684" is engraved under the lid of the butt plate. Ramrod and cocking key missing. Iron parts with corrosion in spots. L 119 cm.

High quality florally engraved iron furniture, butt cap with bust portrait of a lady. Half stock made of beautifully grained walnut root wood with a 6 mm crack in the front area.
