M.A.D.EDITIONS - M.A.D.Editions M.A.D.1 RED, circa 2022 A mint and full-set, large, water-resistant, automatic, stainless steel wristwatch with visible inverted Miyota movement, lateral time display, revolving cherry red minute and black hour rings, oversized titanium and tungsten luminous triple-blade winding rotor, leather strap and stainless steel secured deployant clasp. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 42 mm. Thickness 17.80 mm. Accompanied by M.A.D. instruction pamphlet, UV flashlight, travel pouch, outer packaging and fitted presentation box. For the past 16 years, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser has been creating other-worldly timekeeping machines – but he has also been playing with a side project for a while now: creating a more accessible machine, under another label, but always with the crazy MB&F touch. The result: “M.A.D.1”. The model’s fully visible triple-blade, titanium and tungsten rotor winds one of the rare automatic movements with unidirectional winding, the reliable Miyota 821A, flipped upside-down – a nod to MB&F’s HM3 and HM8. Time is displayed laterally thanks to revolving hour and minute cylinders, engraved and boosted with Super-Luminova. Back in time, the first M.A.D.1 released in 2021 was recognizable by its blue details; it was offered exclusively to MB&F suppliers, “the Friends”, and to members of “The Tribe”, the brand’s owners’ club. However, feedback on the M.A.D.1 was so positive that a new version was promised for 2022, this time available to a wider public: the M.A.D.1 RED, such as the present watch. The M.A.D.1 RED is built on the same platform as the original M.A.D.1, with the same innovative case structure. It has the same lateral time display, with two rotating cylinders for the hours and minutes. The modified, inverted Miyota movement, selected for its unidirectional winding (essential for easy, high-speed rotation) is powered by a three-bladed titanium and tungsten winding rotor, the star of the show – especially when the Super-LumiNova comes into play! But the M.A.D.1 RED also has its own characteristics: the original blue has been changed for a cherry red, the bezel surrounding the rotor is a little thinner, and winding and time setting is now done with a more classic round crown. The M.A.D.1 RED was first offered to fans who took the time to write and e-mail after the 2021 release. Following confirmation of these priority orders, the remaining M.A.D.1 RED pieces were allocated through a random draw, open to all for a two-week period in March-April 2022. During this two-week period, over 20,000 people registered for the draw. With its lateral display time, reversed movement, futurist looking, the model has quickly become sought-after among collectors worldwide.

Two thousand years ago, Euclid discovered an enduring principle of aesthetic proportion known as the Golden Numbers. So perfect are the proportions of this design principle that the Renaissance mathematician Luca Pacioli renamed it De Divina Proportione, the ratio 1 to 1.6181 that dictates the perfect point at which to divide a line into two harmonious but unequal lengths. Over fifty years ago, Patek Philippe used the same principle of harmony and elegance to create the Golden Ellipse, a timeless design that remains unique within the company portfolio. The present watch is a rare self-winding iteration, a nice opportunity to acquire an extremely well preserved timepiece, that is part of the history of one of the greatest watch manufactures.

JAEGER-LECOULTRE - JAEGER-LECOULTRE Geophysic Chronometer, Ref. E168, movement no. 1276318, case no. 747336, made in 1958 A very rare and attractable, collectible, hand wound, antimagnetic, 18K yellow gold chronometer’s wristwatch with off-white dial, applied gold indexes, luminous hands, sweep center second with stop second, leather strap and gilt buckle. Fitted with a caliber 478BWSbr, mechanical, manual winding, antimagnetic, 17 jewels, shock-absorbers, index regulator with swan-neck micrometric adjustment, monometallic balance with poising screws, adjusted to 5 positions, straight line lever escapement, self-compensating blued steel Breguet hairspring, hack mechanism, protected by a dust and antimagnetic soft iron cap, screwed gold case back, hesalite crystal. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 10 mm Accompanied by a JLC Extract from the Archives. The iconic Geophysic, Chronometer, Ref. E168, was born in 1958 and produced only one year, to mark the 125th anniversary of the brand and the world’s first « international Geophysical year », a time of fundamental scientific and political developments on the initiative of the United States. This event took place from July 1st, 1957, to December 31, 1958. JLC created at the time one of the most advanced timekeepers on several points: accuracy, water-dust-humidity protected case, size, resistant to magnetic fields up to 600 gauss, thanks to its Faraday’s cage construction. Reasons why the vintage Geophysic is still today one of the most important models in JLC history, representing manufacturer’s highest values of craftsman ship, precision, robustness, aesthetic purity and still elegance. Fresh to the market, the present watch is a great opportunity to get a piece of the manufactory’s history.

ROLEX - ROLEX Oyster Perpetual, Cosmograph Daytona, “Patrizzi” dial, Ref. 16520, movement no. 75852, case no. S455335, circa 1993 A very fine and highly attractive, water-resistant, tonneau-shaped, automatic, stainless steel, certified chronometer and chronograph wristwatch with gloss black dial, “tropical” 12-hour and 30-minute registers and constant second, inclined steel bezel with tachymeter scale, screwed pushers and crown, stainless steel Oyster bracelet, Ref. 78390, with secured deployant clasp. Fitted with a caliber 4030, based Zenith, rhodium-plated, certified chronometer, 31 jewels, shock-absorbers, monometallic balance with Microstella timing screws, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, blued steel screws, self-winding, column-wheel chronograph mechanism. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 12.40 mm. Approx. overall length for bracelet 200 mm. Accompanied by a fitted presentation box with outer box, Rolex after-sale service guarantee card dated 2012. The present watch belongs to the so-called “Patrizzi dial” batches, when the sub-dial rings have turned a brown-beige colour because of natural oxidization. Turning from their original silvery color to a brown color, this change is only seen with Ref. 16520s between S and early T serials (1993-1996). This example is perfectly in this range with its S-serial (1993). The exposure to UV light causes this effect and it is highly desirable by collectors, probably because of the use of a thinner protective lacquer layer on the dial. The present S series also features a naturally patinated tritium dial and 12-hour register with the so-called “inverted 6”, as well as the red Daytona logo. A collectible chronograph, per sure.

Overall length for bracelet 185 mm Accompanied by a fitted presentation box with outer packaging, user manual, guarantee card, green chronometer seal, guarantee manual booklet. Launched in 2012, the Sky-Dweller is still the most advanced calendar ever made by Rolex. Protected by 14 patents, the Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller provides the information global travelers need to keep track of time at a glance. The local time zone is indicated by the hands, while the second time zone may be independently adjusted without stopping the minutes and seconds hands. Accuracy is thus preserved. The 24-hour revolving central disc allows travelers to clearly distinguish daytime from night-time hours. Introduced in 2017, Ref. 326934, such as the present watch, is fitted with a blue dial, a white gold bezel, steel case and bracelet. Sky-Dweller’s annual calendar distinguishes between 30 and 31-day months and requires adjustment only once a year, at the end of February. The screwed winding crown is used to wind the watch and set the home and local time. The white gold ribbed bezel can be turned to adjust the calendar functions. The Sky-Dweller is equipped with caliber 9001, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. Introduced in 2012, this Swiss certified chronometer movement is one of the most complex calibers ever created by Rolex.

The iconic Rolex GMT-Master was originally developed as a collaborative project between Rolex and Pan Am airways. The Rolex GMT was designed as an aviator watch. The newly introduced fourth hand allowed the display of an additional time, with the corresponding number markings on the outer bezel. Pilots used the second time to display the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which led to the name Rolex GMT-Master. The present reference 16750 has a very rare transitional configuration with the flat dial and the quickset date, while later 16750 had the metal applied hour markers. The presence of its original guarantee dated December 22th, 1981 – correctly bearing code B606 for Bucherer Zurich, the original fitted green presentation box with outer packaging, and the original invoice Bucherer Zurich dated from the same day further amplifies the appeal of this remarkable and collectible timepiece.

Featuring the innovating slide rule chronograph, the model was called the “Navitimer" (combination of Navigation and Timer, the name was patented circa 1955). The 806 is one of the most iconic models of the Swiss brand as the slide rule allows pilots to make important calculations prior and during their flights. On the present watch, the balance bridge is engraved « BOW », meaning Breitling Watch Corp, is in fact the US import code stamped on movements sold in the United States. When the Breitling Watch Corporation of America was established in New York in July 1947, the first models of Navitimer bear the "BOW" mark on the movement, such as the present watch. Sometime during 1957, Breitling Watch Corp. ceased operation, and the importation and distribution of Breitling watches was passed to the Wakmann Watch Corporation, which used "WOG" as its US import code.

Released in 2013, in a limited edition of 1000 pieces, in association with the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, Hublot unveils an outstanding diver's watch capable of withstanding the pressure of 4’000 meters of water, after more than 18 months of research. Thanks to its titanium case, the Oceanographic 4000 remains light on the wrist - even though its 48 mm diameter and volume are powerful. The Super-LumiNova on the dial, hands and flange ensures exceptional legibility. Its 6.50 mm thick crystal ensures perfect water-resistance, together with the grade 2 titanium screw-down caseback. The diving time is indicated by an inner flange, rotating in one direction only. The watch is equipped with two screw-down crowns, at 2 o'clock to adjust the diving ring, protected by a crown guard and at 4 o'clock for the time-setting. Finally, the Oceanographic 4000 is equipped with a steel helium valve at 10 o'clock, which allows gases that have seeped into the watch during descent to escape safely during ascent. The Oceanographic 4000 has been designed to meet the most demanding needs of professional divers and watch enthusiasts alike.
