On June 6, 1994, François Mitterrand, Bill Clinton and some fifteen Heads of State and Government representing 11 Allied countries took part in the commemoration of D-Day in Normandy. The luncheon brought together several Heads of State, including Bill CLINTON, Queen ELIZABETH II, Queen BEATRIX of Holland, and Lech WALESA, President of the Republic of Poland. It was created by Michel BRUNEAU, Michelin-starred chef at La Bourride restaurant in Caen. After taking part in the ceremonies, Bill Clinton visited Paris on June 7. He gave a speech to the French National Assembly and was received at the Élysée Palace for dinner.
