Karl May (1901-1976), German-Canadian expressionist who studied in Prague and Vienna. His works were shown in the Feme exhibition ''Degenerate Art'' and later destroyed. After several years in Iran, where he taught at the academy in Tehran, he emigrated to Canada. Three ducks'' from his series of reduced animal depictions, color chalk on paper (not fixed), signed and dated ''may 48'' lower right, slight traces of storage, sheet measures 42 x 61 cm
