Roman Bronze Phiale with Boss. 1st-3rd century A.D. Broad and squat with thickened rim, central boss to the base. Cf. The Metropolitan Museum, accession number 1980.11.13, for a very similar bowl. 536 grams, 24 cm wide (9 1/2 in.). Acquired in the mid 1980s-1990s. Private collection, Switzerland, thence by descent.
