Lubin sculp.". At the center inscribed in the printing plate: "Le vicomte de Turenne". Date: 1672 Description: Henri de La Tour d'Auvergne, vicomte de Turenne (1611-1675) is considered, alongside Conde, to be the most important French commander of his time. This simple portrait, whose only special decoration is his coat of arms, captivates with its simplicity, which places the military man at the centre of attention. Provenance: Keywords: 17th century, Baroque, Portraits, France, Size: Paper: 25,4 cm x 19,4 cm (10 x 7,6 in), Plate: 24,5 cm x 18,6 cm (9,6 x 7,3 in) Condition: Good condition. Slightly stained. Trimmed just inside the platemark. Slightly translucent collector's stamp lower right. Mounted on backing in upper margin.
