Description

VICENT DARRÉ (Paris, 1965) for Monoprix. Bee lamp, year 2020-2021. Painted glass and lacquered metal. In excellent condition. Measurements: 63 x 49 x 76 cm. Vincent Darré is a man of art in many ways: surrealist designer, set designer, art collector and scholar. As a Parisian by birth, Vincent seems to have absorbed the whole essence of this city, with its art and its high aesthetics. His family of intellectuals gave him the first foundations of his world view; incidentally, Vincent Darré's uncle was the famous French-Spanish writer, screenwriter and politician Jorge Semprún. In the liberated 1970s, Vincent enters the European jet-set circle and gains a reputation as a dandy. He begins his professional career with Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi, then moves to the fashion house Moschino. He later became artistic director of Ungaro. He is the most sought-after decorator in the city - among his latest projects are the clubs Le Baron and Serpent à Plume or the remodeling of Elsa Schiaparelli's apartment in Place Vendôme.
