Attributed to ANGEL PAZMIÑO (Ecuador, 1930-2019). Chair, 1970s. Wood and leather. Measurements: 84 x 55 x 62 cm. Angel Pazmiño's artistic career began in his father's workshop and later continued at the School of Fine Arts in Quito. He then opened his own furniture design and production studio, which soon became famous for its innovative and elegant creations. His creations are distinguished by the use of high quality woods, especially laurel and cedar, and hand-carved motifs that reflect the influence of pre-Columbian and colonial designs. He was awarded the National Plastic Arts Prize of Ecuador in 1969. His creations have been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
