A GEORGE IV SILVER VINAIGRETTE by Ledsam & Vale, Birmingham 1820, rectangular, embossed top and bottom with a flower within a leaf border, the pierced grille engraved with scrolling foliage and cornucopia. 3cm wide Marks lightly rubbed but legible, further marked with the lion passant to the underside of the interior grille. The exterior lid hinge is sturdy, internal grille hinge is slightly loose. Gilded to the interior. The lid is slightly warped and does not sit entirely flush. Minor nicks to tip rim, light surface marks commensurate with age and use.
