AN UNUSUAL EDWARDIAN SILVER SAUCEBOAT by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes, Chester 1901, the scroll handle with leaf-form thumbpiece, raised on shell-capped scroll legs with scallop shell feet, chased with rabbits and pheasants, engraved 'CAREY'. 18cm long, 6.9 troy ounces Marks clear and well-struck. Stands upright on three feet, does not rock. Minor bruising and dings to lip. Vacant cartouche to base. Light surface scratches commensurate with age and use.
