A FLAMBÉ GLAZED PORCELAIN VASE, c. 1920s A FLAMBÉ GLAZED PORCELAIN VASE, c. 1920s China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Of compressed globular form rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck with everted rim, the neck flanked by Chilong handles, covered overall in a thick glaze of blue with purple streaks thinning to mushroom at the mouth and handles, the glaze partially covering the interior, the base left unglazed revealing the buff ware burnt orange during the firing process. Condition: Good condition with minor wear, glaze flaking, surface scratches, and manufacturing flaws including glaze recesses, open bubbles, pitting, and pottery lines. The foot chipped at some areas, probably inherent to manufacturing due to the uneven glaze dripping along the rim which is expected from this type of ware. Provenance: Hungarian private collection.
