A FAMILLE VERTE BISCUIT TEAPOT AND COVER, QING DYNASTY A FAMILLE VERTE BISCUIT TEAPOT AND COVER, QING DYNASTY China, 1644-1912. Molded with a handle in the form of a Buddhist lion, its hind paw resting on a pierced brocade ball, the faceted pot features panels adorned with diapered patterns, and the cover is surmounted by a lion finial. The whole composition is raised on a rectangular plinth with floral decoration. Condition: Overall good condition with some wear, firing irregularities and touch-ups to one eye. Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.
