A FAMILLE ROSE ‘LOTUS POND’ PORCELAIN BOWL, TONGZHI MARK AND PERIOD A FAMILLE ROSE ‘LOTUS POND’ PORCELAIN BOWL, TONGZHI MARK AND PERIOD China, Tongzhi period (1861-1875). Delicately potted, the deep sides rising from a short straight foot to a gently everted rim. The exterior finely painted in polychrome enamels and iron red with a continuous scene of lotus, bamboo, and wildflowers growing from a pond, with birds and insects such as a pair of Magpies, butterflies, and various beetles, as well as fish swimming in the water. The rim neatly lined in gilt. The recessed base with an underglaze blue six-character Tongzhi Reign mark and of the period. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, some firing flaws, and wear to gilt and enamels. Provenance: Slovakian private collection. Weight: 249 g Dimensions: Diameter 15.5 cm
