A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE ‘RIVER LANDSCAPE’ PORCELAIN CHARGER, JIAJING STYLE A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE ‘RIVER LANDSCAPE’ PORCELAIN CHARGER, JIAJING STYLE China, style of the Jiajing period (1521-1567), but dating to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). The charger with shallow sides and everted rim, finely painted in underglaze blue at the center with a river landscape depicting pavilions, rockwork, and lush trees. The rim framed egrets and lotus. The exterior with peach sprigs above a band of scrolls and below floral sprays, and the base unglazed revealing the gray ware. Provenance: From a good European collection. Condition: Presenting well, the charger broke in two and reassembled, with minor associated losses, repairs and touchups, light surface scratches, and firing flaws including dark spots, uneven glazing, and pitting.
