A PAIR OF INSIDE-PAINTED GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES, BY TING ERH-CHUNG A PAIR OF INSIDE-PAINTED GLASS SNUFF BOTTLES, BY TING ERH-CHUNG China, 1868-1935. Each of rectangular form with rounded corners, rising from an oval foot to a cylindrical neck. Well hollowed to form a double gourd and delicately painted with trees and plants growing from weathered rocks as well as inscribed with poems. Both signed and sealed Ting Erh-chung and dated the year of Bingshen (1836, 1896, 1956). The cinnabar lacquer stoppers with metal platelets and spoons. Condition: Very good condition with minor surface wear and manufacturing irregularities. Provenance: A noted Belgian private collection Weight: 166 g and 145 g Dimensions: Height 9 cm each Literature comparison: For other snuff bottles by Ting Erh-chung see Chinese Snuff-Bottles, number one, Edited by Hugh M. Moss. Ting Erh-chung, also known as Ting Yu-Keng, work is known for its unique subjects and graceful execution.
