A PALE CELADON JADE ‘BUDDHIST LION’ PENDANT, c. 1900s A PALE CELADON JADE ‘BUDDHIST LION’ PENDANT, c. 1900s China, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). Finely carved as a recumbent Buddhist lion with its feet tucked underneath its body and tail swept to one side, the face with bulging eyes above a wide snout and curly ears, the ribs and fur hair finely incised. The translucent stone of a pale celadon color with few faint russet veins and cloudy white inclusions. Provenance: British trade. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and a minuscule chip to one ear. Weight: 22.1 g Dimensions: Length 4.2 cm
