A LOT WITH NINE HIMALAYAN AGATE BEADS, 19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER A LOT WITH NINE HIMALAYAN AGATE BEADS, 19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER Himalayan region, presumably Tibet, 19th century or earlier. Comprising eight barrel shaped beads and one cylindrical bead, the opaque stones of brown hues with broad white bands. Drilled through the center, showing ancient toolmarks, and allowing for suspension as a pendant. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe. Condition: Very good condition, with small nicks, and minor natural flaws. Weight: 43 g Dimensions: Length 2.9 cm (longest)
