A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA China or Tibet, 20th century. Finely cast seated in dhayanasana on a lotus base, the hands raised in gyan mudra, dressed in loose robes open at the chest and decorated with scrolling hems, the face with downcast eyes and subtle smile, flanked by elongated earlobes, and surmounted by tight curls above an ushnisha with a globular finial. The base sealed with an incised copper plate. Provenance: Austrian private collection. Condition: Very good condition with light wear, nicks, scratches, small dents, little rubbing to the gilt, few minuscule cracks to the neck and earlobes, and casting irregularities.
