A COPPER ALLOY ‘MAKARA’ FITTING, TIBET, 19TH CENTURY A COPPER ALLOY ‘MAKARA’ FITTING, TIBET, 19TH CENTURY Finely cast as the head of a makara with bulging eyes, distinct curly brows accentuated with incised curved lines, a short trunk-like snout, and the mouth wide open revealing sharp fangs and a moveable tongue, all framed by ruyi-form curls. The circular neck hollow to comfortably fit onto an attachment. Provenance: From a private collection in Zagreb, Croatia. Condition: Good condition with wear and manufacturing irregularities. Minor losses, few dents, warping of metal, and minor cracks. The metal with a naturally grown patina. Weight: 185.1 g Dimensions: Length 13.5 cm
