A BRONZE STANDING FIGURE OF BUDDHA, AYUTTHAYA STYLE, 19TH CENTURY A BRONZE STANDING FIGURE OF BUDDHA, AYUTTHAYA STYLE, 19TH CENTURY Thailand, 19 th century. Finely cast, standing in samabhanga with both hands down to his sides, palms forward. The elegantly molded figure wearing a long flaring sanghati secured at the waist with a belt. The face showing a serene expression with downcast eyes below elegantly arched brows, flanked by elongated earlobes, the hair in pointed curls over the ushnisha surmounted by a flaming siraspata. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear. Signs of weathering and erosion, casting flaws, small nicks, and minor losses. Provenance: From an old Belgian private collection. Acquired before 1970 and thence by descent in the family. A certificate of expertise from Royal Art, confirming the dating above, accompanies this lot. Weight: 4,791 g Dimensions: Height 58.2 cm
