(2) The high-relief terracotta heads of the ancient kingdom of Haripunjaya belong to images of the standing Buddha that were placed in niches on the exterior faces of monuments such as sixty-niche pyramids and octagonal stupa-shrines. Both bodies and heads were made in molds. The heads tend to be characterized by sprightly, undulant, and sharply delineated features.
