Titled Segawa Kikunojō V as Oiso no Tora, from the series Yakusha tosei kagami (Modern Mirror of Actors). Portrait of kabuki actor Segawa Kikunojo V (1802-1832) in the role of the courtesan Oiso no Tora. The toggle to the end of the cord is decorated with the actor's mon crest. SIZE of the sheet 38 x 25.9 cm Condition: Good condition with good colors and wear. Some soiling, staining, and foxing. The wormholes repaired. Gently mounted on a passepartout. There are two different sets of prints that follow the same template. The first is by Toyokuni I, the teacher, from ca. 1823 and the second is by Kunisada, his pupil, from ca. 1838.
