Freely painted with the God of Wealth Daikoku sitting on a rice bale, one hand clasped around a sack, and the other holding his wish-granting mallet (uchide no kozuchi). SIZE of the sheet 28.7 x 39 cm Condition: Good condition with minor wear. Slight browning of paper, minor creasing, centerfold, and a few stains. Gently mounted on a paper passepartout Provenance: From the private collection of Thomas Padua, Mühldorf, Germany. Thomas Padua was an artist and collector of Japanese woodblock prints who exhibited his surimono collection at the Olaf Gulbransson Museum, in ‘Glückwünsche aus Kyoto: Japanische Shijo-Surimono aus der Sammlung Thomas Padua,’ 3 November 2013 to 26 January 2014.
